Doral Mineral SandsPty Ltd (DMS), is a well established mineral sands producer. Doral has a long-standing reputation for safe, responsible and sustainable operations. Doral has mineral sands mining and processing facilities near Bunbury, Busselton and Mandurah in the Southwest of WA. As part of the company\'s growth strategy, we have acquired Coburn Mineral Sands Project which is situated 240km North of Geraldton in the mid-west region.
This multi-faceted role based at our Coburn operation and will provide an excellent opportunity if you enjoy a challenge and being an integral member of a high performing and motivated mineral sands team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager - Coburn, the Maintenance Superintendent will lead and coordinate all maintenance operations across our new site. This critical role ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable functioning of equipment and infrastructure, while driving continuous improvement and minimising downtime.
You will manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs, oversee a team of skilled tradespeople, and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. Your leadership will foster a culture of accountability and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Mechanical Coordinator and Electrical Supervisor to ensure production targets are met and plant availability is maintained.
* Oversee the development and continuous improvement of maintenance, inspecting and testing schedules.
* Update and keep records of maintenance and testing activities and spares.
* Liaise closely with production personnel and nurture a team ownership approach to maintenance.
* Oversee the cost and effectiveness of spares and inventory levels.
* Provide oversight & leadership into the development and ongoing improvement in JSAs for tasks within your area of responsibility.
* Ensure that Electrical and Instrument inspections and testing are carried out in accordance with Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations.
* Helps maintain the maintenance management system (Pronto) such that accurate and up to date entries are made.
* Oversee project work as required to improve production and maintenance performance.
* Liaises with operational coordinators to finalise priorities for project work.
* Ensure that electrical and instrument project work is carried out in accordance with Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations.
* Overseeing and support peers including contractors within the operation to complete tasks.
* Help and support other personnel within and outside your department where appropriate.
* Assess and approve training needs of trades personnel as required.
Qualifications
* Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent
* Significant experience in fixed plant mechanical maintenance within mining, mineral sands or heavy process industry
* Demonstrated strong leadership, supervisory and crew coordination skills and proven ability to coach and develop teams.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure in a production environment
* Hold or be willing to obtain statutory supervisor certificate
* Demonstrated diagnostics and trouble shooting ability.
* Computer literacy and sound numeracy/literacy skills.
