About the role
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic highly specialist Clinical Psychologist to a 0.5 WTE band 8a post within NHS Forth Valley Specialist Rehabilitation Service (SRS). The Service provides comprehensive multi-disciplinary intervention for inpatients with specialist rehabilitation needs. The Specialist Rehabilitation Unit (SRU), based at the Bellfield Centre, Stirling Community Hospital, rehabilitates suitable patients from a number of pathways, including the major trauma pathway (often patients are repatriated from Major Trauma Centres) and other appropriate patients transferred from Forth Valley Royal Hospital (FVRH). This is a need‐based service rather than diagnostic led, but the majority of patients do have complex neurological presentations. In addition to SRU, the SRS provides a limited in‐reach service to FVRH to offer early rehabilitation.
Key responsibilities
* Work closely with the 8b Clinical Psychologist in the SRS to provide input across both acute and community hospitals.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver services to individuals experiencing neuropsychological difficulties in relation to a neurological presentation and/or poly‐trauma.
* Conduct neuropsychological assessment, psychological assessment and deliver psychological interventions and rehabilitation.
* Provide consultancy and training as an integral part of the role.
* Deliver professional line management within the Clinical Neuropsychology Service.
Requirements and qualifications
* Prior experience of neuropsychology essential; experience of inpatient work advantageous.
* Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential.
* Member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
Other information
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‐time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‐time hours will be reduced pro‐rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
