We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Manager to lead our credit control function and support the financial performance of our organisation. You will play a key role in managing credit risk, optimising cash flow, and ensuring the debtors ledger is maintained within company guidelines.
About the Role
In this role, you will oversee all aspects of customer credit management, including credit assessments, collections, dispute resolution, and reporting. You will lead a team and collaborate closely with Finance, Sales, and Customer Service to maintain healthy debtor balances and minimise financial risk.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee the management of ALL accounts & in particular the major accounts.
* Supervise and allocate duties to accounts administrator/ clerk.
* Process and allocate direct deposits to customer accounts on a daily basis ensuring correct settlement discounts are taken
* Process credit card payments via EFTPOS as requested by customers
* Reconcile total EFTPOS payment processed, to bank payment
* Reconcile customer's accounts as required.
* Maintain regular contact with customers & build relationships in order reduce DSOs & bad debts
* Follow up with customers to ensure commitments are adhered to & maintain notes on system
* Investigate and resolve customer disputes with the relevant areas of the company
* Provide any documentation requested by customers i.e. copy invoices & Pod's etc.
* Perform credit checks & obtain trade references for new account applications & compile all information for approval of the application.
* Open new accounts on the system and maintain customers account information as required
* Update the Personal Property Securities Register (PPS) for new customers
About You
* 10-years proven experience in a Credit Manager or senior credit leadership role.
* Strong knowledge of credit risk, collections, and financial analysis.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
* Proficiency with ERP systems and strong Excel skills.
