Payroll Specialist Lead
* This role is responsible for overseeing daily payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee pay.
About the Role
* The Payroll Lead will lead a team of payroll professionals in executing payroll tasks and processes.
* They will act as primary escalation point for payroll-related queries from staff and managers.
* A key responsibility of this role is to oversee the Payroll Inbox and ensure enquiries are resolved promptly through a rotating roster system.
* The Payroll Lead must also ensure all payroll data, including master data changes and calculations, are accurately recorded and securely stored.
* Another important task is to review complex payroll calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* The role involves managing documentation and upkeep of payroll procedures and training materials.
* The Payroll Lead is also responsible for delivering internal training and knowledge sharing across the team.
* They must lead preparation and coordination of annual payroll audits in partnership with HR and auditors.
* An additional duty is to drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain the team's improvement tracker.
* The role also involves supporting the implementation of new payroll technologies to enhance query tracking and reporting.
About You
* We seek candidates with extensive end-to-end payroll experience and strong leadership capabilities.
* Candidates should have a strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, and compliance obligations.
* A high level of attention to detail and focus on accuracy is required.
* Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills are necessary.
* Confident communication skills with ability to advise stakeholders at all levels are essential.
* Previous experience with payroll systems (Preceda advantageous) and HRIS platforms (Workday preferred) is desirable.
