We are building structured, scalable systems across HR, WHS, and ISO compliance — and we're looking for a strong operator to take ownership of this function.
Job Summary
The HR & WHS Compliance Manager is primarily responsible for leading the Human Resources function while managing the administrative and systems side of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and ISO compliance.
This is not a field safety role. The Safety Coordinator oversees on-site compliance. This role focuses on:
HR leadership and people management
WHS documentation, policies, and reporting systems
ISO certification, audits, and compliance frameworks
Governance, systems improvement, and risk management
Work closely with the Safety Coordinator who is out in the field.
You will be the central driver of structure, accountability, and compliance across the business.
Human Resources (Primary Focus)
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes
Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures
Manage employee relations and performance processes
Oversee training matrices and workforce development
Maintain personnel records and compliance documentation
Support leadership with workforce planning and HR strategy
WHS & Compliance (Administrative & Systems)
Maintain WHS policies, procedures, and Safe Work documentation
Manage incident reporting systems and compliance registers
Coordinate internal audits and external ISO audits
Oversee ISO systems 9001, 45001, 14001
Ensure documentation aligns with legislative requirements
Work closely with the Safety Coordinator to align systems with field operations
Governance & Systems
Improve internal processes and compliance frameworks
Monitor legislative changes and update policies accordingly
Maintain risk registers and compliance reporting dashboards
About You
5+ years' experience in HR, compliance, or governance roles
Experience in construction, trades, or industrial sectors preferred
Strong understanding of Australian employment law
Experience managing WHS systems and ISO frameworks
Highly organised with strong documentation skills
Confident working with leadership and operational teams
Systems-driven and detail-oriented
Qualifications in HR, WHS, or Business Management will be highly regarded.
