Join our Finance & Advice team as an Assistant Financial Control Accountant in Brisbane Be part of the Treasury, Intercompany and Cash Management team within Financial Reporting & Delivery. In this role, you’ll play a key part in preparing cash forecasts, intercompany settlements, journals, and payment instructions, while contributing to process improvement initiatives and ensuring strong financial controls. What You’ll Do: Prepare daily cash forecasting for large known receipts and funding requirements. Prepare monthly cash forecasting for the Insurance business to support investment operations. Prepare monthly intercompany settlements, including associated journals, payment transfers, and investment instructions. Prepare and load journals for scheduled and ad-hoc tasks. Assist with coordinating bank account authority changes, including monthly reviews of employee terminations or divisional changes. Support adhoc business requests to open or close accounts and linked facilities. Escalate high-risk issues promptly to the appropriate team member. Assist in maintaining work instructions, guidelines, and timetables for the team. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the wider finance community to ensure deliverables are met. Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for automation, simplification, and standardisation of processes. Maintain strong internal customer service, build positive working relationships, and contribute to a supportive team environment. What You’ll Bring: Recognised degree in Accounting (desired). CA or CPA accreditation (or working towards) preferred. 2 years’ accounting experience in financial services, ideally with General Ledger, regulatory, and financial reporting experience in large systems. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and numeracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis) and Word. Experience with Oracle or similar general ledger systems is a plus. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to change. Self-motivated, eager to learn, and committed to sharing knowledge within the team. Why Suncorp?
