Secondary Teacher - Head of Maths & Science
Annandale Christian College is seeking an enthusiastic, faith-led and experienced educator to lead our Secondary Maths & Science department from Term 1, 2026.
About the Role:
The Head of Maths & Science is a middle leadership position responsible for oversight of the curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, staff development, and strategic direction of the Maths & Science learning areas across Years 7–12.
This full-time permanent role includes:
* 0.4 FTE teaching load within the Secondary School
The successful applicant will work closely with the College Leadership Team to foster a culture of high expectations, team collaboration, academic growth, and Christ-centred learning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide leadership and strategic direction for Secondary Maths & Science
* Support and mentor teachers to ensure high-quality, evidence-based teaching practices
* Oversee curriculum planning, implementation, and review in alignment with the Australian Curriculum and QCE requirements
* Lead faculty moderation, assessment practices, and reporting processes
* Foster a professional, collaborative and supportive team culture
* Promote student engagement, achievement, and enrichment in Maths and Science
* Coordinate departmental budgets, resources, laboratories, and safety procedures
* Contribute to whole-school initiatives and college-wide leadership
* Engage actively in the life and Christian mission of the College
The Successful Applicant Will Have:
* Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Queensland College of Teachers
* Strong experience teaching Mathematics and/or Science at the secondary level
* Demonstrated leadership capability, including team development and curriculum leadership
* Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
* A commitment to Christian education and the values of Annandale Christian College
* The ability to inspire staff and students toward excellence in learning
