Commercial Manager Mining Operation

About The Role
WorkPac is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead all site-based commercial and financial functions at Mt Carlton Gold Mine, located between Bowen and Ayr. This working-away role operates on a Monday to Thursday roster and plays a critical role in supporting safe, efficient and profitable mining operation.
About Our Client
Our client operates Mt Carlton Gold Mine in North Queensland, located between Bowen and Ayr. The operation is focused on strong commercial discipline, cost control and continuous improvement to support long-term, sustainable production.
What You Will Be Doing
* Leading all financial management and reporting for the site
* Overseeing budgeting, forecasting and cost control processes
* Delivering accurate month-end close and production cost reporting
* Completing variance analysis and CAPEX tracking
* Implementing and maintaining internal controls and compliance
* Partnering with site leadership to optimise financial performance
* Supporting audits and managing payroll or contractor payments
* Providing commercial insights to site and corporate stakeholders
What You Will Need
* Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or senior finance role
* Strong background in mining or heavy industry operations
* Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
* Knowledge of accounting standards and governance frameworks
* Ability to partner effectively with operational and leadership teams
* Availability to work a Monday to Thursday working-away roster
