The position of Program Assistant is to provide optimal quality care for participants living with dementia. The aim of the program is to assist frail older people to participate in community life and feel socially included through structured, group-based activities that develop, maintain or support independent living and social interaction. Activities are conducted away from the participant's home in a community-based setting. The program is primarily funded by the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). The Treehouse Program is a holistic outpatient service providing additional care options for people who are living with dementia. The primary role of the program assistant is to coordinate participant focused group activities. You will consider participant interests and capabilities when developing and delivering these programs. Key Selection Criteria: * Holds or working towards a Certificate IV in Ageing Support qualification or Certificate III in Individual Support qualification, or equivalent experience. * Experience in the development and delivery of recreational activities for the aged, disabled and/or people living with dementia. * Passion for working with older people - specifically those with dementia.
