The position of Curriculum Adviser, Secondary Years Support Resources provides expert advice on high quality curriculum planning and optional support resources and using technology solutions to support implementation of the national curriculum, and other matters relating to the area of responsibility.
About the position:
* Ensure the timely completion, to the highest standard, of all deliverables associated with the Australian Curriculum work plan, including relevant tasks that will inform and support the development of resources and professional development activities for the F-10 Australian Curriculum: Secondary Years.
* Provide direct support to the Manager, Curriculum Support Resources in all matters relating to Secondary Years of schooling, including the preparation and/or delivery of briefing and research materials, papers, presentations and other documentation and tasks.
* Undertake research and stakeholder engagement activities to inform the development and delivery of optional support materials for the F-10 Australian Curriculum, including curriculum planning from a whole school and teacher perspective.
* Manage the design, development, review and editing of content and resources including current and new resources to be published on the Australian Curriculum website for Version 9.0.
To be successful, you will have:
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as education and/or educational leadership or equivalent knowledge and experience in primary school settings.
* Demonstrated involvement in the development and delivery of the curriculum in a primary school setting.
* High level conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to independently undertake research, prepare briefing papers and reports, and provide strategic advice to senior management.
* High level written and verbal communication skills that enable the generation of high-quality research material, curriculum documents, presentations, briefing papers and any other items relating to the specialist area or as required by the Curriculum business unit.
* Experience in developing high quality curriculum planning strategies for schools including considering the learning needs of students from diverse backgrounds.

ACARA offers an attractive salary package dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate, commencing at $123,964 base per annum, as a full-time equivalent (plus superannuation).
This is a fixed-term part-time contract until end of December 2025 working 17.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE)
