The Paediatrics Department at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is entering an exciting phase of expansion and is now seeking to appoint 2 permanent full-time Staff Specialists to join its team.
Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is a Level 4 Paediatric Unit with 8 inpatient beds for children and young people up to 18 years of age, and a 2-bed special care nursery supporting a level 4 maternity unit with 450 deliveries annually.
You will join a workforce of 3 experienced Paediatricians with increasing support from junior medical staff. Our team prides itself on collaborative work to provide excellent care for our patients and their families.
The clinical work requires broad skills, from neonatal care (>34 weeks' gestation) to inpatient care of children and young people up to 18 years, including general outpatient services involving complex medical, behavioural, and developmental paediatrics. While challenging, this work is very rewarding and allows you to work to the full scope of your practice as a regional general paediatrician. We offer mentoring and support to help you establish yourself as a key team member and develop your career interests. Even if you are early in your career and hesitant about this leap, we will ensure you have the necessary support.
