Our Academic Cardiology practice is looking for a Medical Secretary/Receptionist to join our busy team.This role requires energy, enthusiasm and a keenness to learn the skills required to provide administrative support for patient care.
An ability to work collaboratively with consideration and compassion for both patients and your colleagues is essential.Given that patients attending the practice are sick and often stressed, an ability to maintain a caring approach to patients and their families is very important.This challenging role requires someone who is extremely meticulous, thoughtful and thorough - following through tasks to the finish.
It requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
The successful candidate will have excellent people skills and an ability to communicate clearly face to face, over the telephone and via email with patients, colleagues and other health professionals.Training in medical terminology and Practice IT systems will be provided.
Previous hospitality or customer service experience is essential for this role.
Obviously clinical skills obtained via Nursing or other Allied Health roles would be an advantage as would previous experience in a similar role.An ability to type with reasonable speed and accuracy would certainly help.
Basic numeracy is clearly important in a business setting.
