Due to continued growth and increased demand, we're looking for a Pick / Packer & Forklift Driver to join the team at Burge Barossa Bottling & Distribution on a full-time basis.
This role supports the safe and efficient receival, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of dry goods and finished goods, playing a key role in our bottling, production, and distribution operations. Attention to detail, strong safety awareness, and good organisation are essential, along with flexibility to adapt to changing operational demands.
The Role
Picking, Packing & Dispatch
* Accurately pick customer orders from designated warehouse locations using pick lists
* Pack items securely using appropriate materials to ensure safe transport
* Correctly label and prepare orders for dispatch
* Verify picked items against order specifications to prevent shipment errors
* Inspect products for damage, defects, or discrepancies prior to packing
* Prioritise urgent orders to meet transport and shipping deadlines
* Collaborate with warehouse, bottling, and production teams to meet daily requirements
Forklift & Warehouse Operations
* Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and organise inventory
* Complete daily pre-start forklift checklists to ensure equipment is safe and operational
* Load and unload trucks, verifying quantities against delivery documentation
* Conduct receival activities including inspection of incoming goods
* Ensure goods are appropriately secured and protected for transportation
* Support other warehouse activities including staging materials for production
Inventory, Safety & Compliance
* Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing goods for tracking and traceability
* Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation of discrepancies
* Ensure correct storage and organisation of goods, including compliance with HACCP and food safety requirements
* Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse environment
* Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and manual handling practices
* Report hazards, incidents, near misses, or injuries promptly
* Participate in training and continuous improvement activities
* Other duties as required
This is a daytime operation. Flexibility may be required to ensure effective coverage of warehouse and bottling schedules in line with customer demand.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
* Highly self-motivated and capable of working unsupervised
* Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in picking, packing, and documentation
* A clear communicator who works well within a team
* Committed to safety and maintaining a safe work environment
* Physically fit, with the ability to lift and carry items up to 20kg and stand for extended periods
* Strong in manual handling awareness
You'll ideally have:
* A current forklift licence (essential)
* Previous experience in warehouse operations
* Experience with dry goods and finished goods (preferred)
* Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping
* Experience using, or willingness to learn, a warehouse management system (e.g. Carton Cloud)
