Overview
Bankwest's Technology Division develops and executes technical change to deliver the Bankwest strategy using a wide range of technologies in an Agile environment. You will be part of the Customer Support Experience Crew, focused on transforming customer interactions with innovative digital solutions and building Agentic AI within a cross-functional, self-managing squad with end-to-end responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Lead, promote continuous improvement, develop technical roadmaps, and improve the quality of technical solutions by implementing industry best practices.
- Collaborate with other technical leaders and product owners to document changes and drive initiatives; provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers.
- Communicate effectively with squad members and transition to cloud-based architectures as applicable.
- Own and influence technical design, architecture, and implementation for new and existing features; provide thought leadership across the team.
- Provide technical governance throughout the complete solution delivery lifecycle and support a culture of quality, excellence, and openness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Full-cycle engineering experience: ideation, technical design, build, testing (unit, integration, system), release, and maintenance.
- Experience leading technical design and architecture; ability to influence technology direction.
- Ability to work independently and foster a culture of quality and openness.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on complex technical challenges.
- Strong understanding of core business and technical strategies to deliver business outcomes through technical implementation.
- Experience leading and championing strategic practice development; ability to grow capabilities within the squad and across the crew.
Required Technical Skills
- Solid experience in backend development using .NET Core and/or .NET Framework
- Expertise with Microservices and RESTful API design
- Frontend experience with Angular or React
- Working knowledge of public cloud engineering (Azure or AWS)
- Understanding of solution design and architecture principles
- Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity, Octopus, GitHub Actions)
- Experience or exposure to AI/ML development, prompt engineering, or integrating agentic AI in software development; leading small technical teams is a plus
