The role of a Waste Operative – Bin Puller
You'll play a key part in delivering top-quality waste management services to the City of Busselton. You will be responsible for presenting public waste bins for the waste collection drivers, delivering and retrieving event bins, cleaning public bins and carrying out maintenance on residential bins (such as replacing lids, wheels and pins). You will also operate the rubbish collection trucks for the collection of public litter bins and keep sites clean and safe.
Reporting to the Waste Transport Leading Hand, you will be required to work a variety of shifts, including 2:30am to 8:30am over a range of days. You will be required to be available to work weekends and work will take place in both Busselton and Dunsborough and commencing work from either the Busselton depot (Barlee St) or Busselton transfer station (Rendezvous road).
What you'll be doing:
As part of the Waste Services team, you'll be responsible for:
* Ensuring that all City public mobile bins are presented correctly in readiness for collection.
* Undertaking bin washing as required, including cleaning bin shrouds.
* Assisting in the delivery of City public mobile garbage bins to streets, foreshores and parks.
* Operating and driving waste collection trucks to support in the public bin collection
* Liaising with the Waste Transport Leading Hand about any safety issues or suggestions for operational improvements.
What you'll bring to the role:
* Hold a current HR drivers licence
* Ability to work early starts, weekends or public holidays as required.
* Be physically fit, safety-focused and committed to teamwork.
* Ability to work alone
* Ability to carry out maintenance
Pre-employment Requirements:
* National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
* White Card
* Proof of right to work in Australia
