Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer (0 – 2 years' experience)

We invite applications from motivated Engineering Geologists and Geotechnical Engineers with 0–2 years' experience to join our Canberra team. This role provides the opportunity to work with a passionate group on diverse design and investigation projects across sectors including national transport infrastructure, renewable energy, and multi-level commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities:
Depending on your skills and experience, your role will include:
* Working under the guidance and instruction of senior engineers
* Assisting with geotechnical and geological fieldwork, including site investigations, drilling, sampling, and testing of soils and rocks
* Supporting data collection, geotechnical analysis, and report preparation
* Gaining exposure to geotechnical design and project delivery through hands-on experience
* Working under guidance while building technical knowledge and industry experience
* Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, including geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, environmental scientists, and sub-consultants
* Implement company and project-specific health and safety requirements
* Build and maintain strong client relationships
* Uphold and promote D&N's Quality, Environmental, and Safety Management system
What we're looking for:
* Willingness and enthusiasm to travel to regional areas for project work
* A strong interest in geotechnical investigations and fieldwork
* Strong computer literacy and data handling skills
* Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and adaptability in the field
* A degree in Earth Science, Civil Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering from an institution recognised by the Washington Accord
* A commitment to health, safety, and working within the company's HSEQ system
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
