Job Title: Family Support Specialist

Our team is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our ranks. As a key member of our support services, you will be responsible for supervising and facilitating safe family contact for young people in care.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Transport and supervise family contact visits to ensure the best interests of the child are met.
\
2. Prepare clear, detailed reports after each visit to inform case managers and other stakeholders.
\
3. Support the development and implementation of care plans with Case Managers, prioritizing the needs of the child.
\
4. Identify and report any concerns regarding child safety, adhering to mandatory reporting requirements.
\
5. Manage visits when they do not align with the child's best interests, making informed decisions that prioritize their well-being.
\
6. Collaborate with diverse families, applying conflict management strategies to promote positive outcomes.
\
7. Ensure compliance with child safety and car restraint laws, maintaining a focus on the child's protection at all times.
\
8. Be available for a range of shifts, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in your work schedule.

Requirements:
\
\
9. Diploma in Community Services or related field (preferred but not required).
\
10. Understanding of mandatory reporting and experience in Out-of-Home Care or similar environments.
\
11. Valid Driver's Licence, Working with Children Check, First Aid certification, and NDIS clearance.
\
12. Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and families.
\
13. Able to manage conflict and work with diverse families, fostering positive relationships and outcomes.
\
14. Comprehensive knowledge of child safety and car restraint laws, ensuring the child's protection at all times.
