Description Wood is recruiting for a Lead / Senior Commissioning Engineer to join our Minerals & Metals business, focusing on operation readiness within a greenfield mining project. This is a 6-month contract with possibility for extension ideal for an engineer looking to progress into a leadership role, supporting a major client based in Brisbane. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join a high-performing team and contribute to the success of a key client. With presence across the globe we are active in leading the way from front end conceptual studies through to EPCM delivery in Copper, Rare-Earths, Nickel, Gold, Lithium etc Responsibilities To be successful in your role, you will have prior commissioning experience in operation readiness on mining projects within an Owner or EPCM engineering environment. Your responsibilities will be: Accountable for the safe and timely preparation and execution of the project work scope in adherence with project HSEQ safety targets, procedures and practices Accountable for reviewing the project commissioning strategy and procedures - ensure compliance with project standards, specifications and procedures Accountable for ensuring commissioning is carried out in accordance with project procedures, schedules and budget Actively participate in all company and project safety initiatives Monitor and report commissioning progress on a regular basis At Wood, we look for innovative ideas and an agile approach to deliver the best possible outcomes and offer you an opportunity to progress and thrive by working collectively and making an active contribution. Qualifications You will be an Australian citizen or be eligible to hold Permanent Residency (PR) to work lawfully in Australia. Those with visa applications already in progress are also encouraged to apply. Ideally, you will be a qualified engineer with an Engineering degree from a recognized institution. In addition, you will have: Appropriate level of commissioning experience in the mining industry sector Commissioning experience on Gold Plants desirable Minimum 10 years of engineering experience Good standard of general computer literacy Fully conversant with regards to discipline technical knowledge Proven experience of interpreting discipline documentation Ability to monitor work progress and report against the plan What will set you apart will be your experience in commissioning and operation readiness on greenfield mining projects.
