About the Role
In this 12-month parental leave contract, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening Telstra Health's market position through integrated corporate, internal and media communications. You will shape compelling stakeholder narratives, enhance brand credibility, and elevate visibility across priority markets at a time of significant strategic momentum.
Operating with strong commercial acumen and executive influence, you will lead a high-performing team, manage reputation and media engagement, and partner closely with Telstra's Media and Communications teams to position Telstra Health as a trusted leader in digital health.
You will also lead communications for nationally significant programs including 1800RESPECT and the Leaving Violence Program, ensuring the highest standards of contractual, stakeholder and reputational excellence.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead and deliver a high-impact corporate affairs and media strategy aligned to strategic priorities
* Drive team performance and engagement by setting clear objectives, providing strategic direction, and fostering a high-performing, inclusive communications function.
* Lead communications for nationally significant programs including 1800RESPECT and the Leaving Violence Program, ensuring the highest standards of contractual, stakeholder and reputational excellence.
* Drive executive communications, including speeches and high-profile messaging
* Maintain key government and regulatory stakeholder relationships
* Lead issues management and protect organisational reputation
* Oversee internal communications and complex change communications
* Coach and develop a team of communications professionals
* Partner with Telstra's Media and Communications teams to amplify visibility and influence
About You
* You are a strategic, credible and commercially minded communications leader who thrives in complex and high-stakes environments and presents with:
* Demonstrated leadership experience driving performance and alignment within a communications function
* Deep expertise in media and communications leadership, with a proven ability to strengthen brand awareness and reputation
* Proven experience building and leveraging senior-level relationships across media, government, industry and internal stakeholders
* Executive presence and the ability to communicate authoritatively across all organisational levels
* Strong capability leading and developing high-performing communications teams
* Experience leading communications through complex change
* Demonstrated expertise in real-time issues management across stakeholder, media and communications environments
* Strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen with the ability to cut through noise or ambiguity to create clarity
* Hands on experience within regulated or mission-critical healthcare environments
