Your opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and motivatedAsset Engineerto support the planning, performance and long-term sustainability of Council's infrastructure assets. This role plays a vital part in ensuring asset data, condition assessments and lifecycle strategies are robust, accurate and aligned with best-practice asset management principles.


In this pivotal role, you will provide lifecycle strategies and condition assessments in the following areas:

* Transport, Drainage and Flooding Management and Strategy / Network Planning
* Transport and Drainage Infrastructure
* Road Corridor Management and Network Planning

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop, maintain and improve asset management plans for Council's infrastructure assets.
* Analyse asset condition, performance and risk to inform renewal and capital investment programs.
* Manage and improve asset data, condition ratings and lifecycle models within the Asset Management System.
* Undertake asset inspections, condition assessments and validation across the network.
* Support asset valuation, capitalisation and componentisation processes.
* Provide technical advice on levels of service, useful lives and renewal strategies.
* Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for management, Executive and Council.
* Ensure asset management practices align with Council's Strategic Asset Management Plan and relevant standards.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of asset management policies, systems and business processes.


Your skills and experience:

* C Class Manual Drivers Licence.
* IPWEA Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning or similar with relevant work experience within a Civil Infrastructure capacity or a minimum 5 years' experience in developing technical documentation associated with transport related projects and asset management.
* Technical knowledge and understanding of transport, stormwater and coastal infrastructure including road surfaces, pavements, stormwater drainage, retaining walls, footpaths, guardrails, bridges, car parks and boat ramps, including familiarity with Australian Standards and specifications for design and construction of these assets.
* A technical understanding of transport, stormwater and coastal infrastructure construction practices and treatment selection in order to optimise the performance of the asset, taking into consideration life cycle costs, environmental factors and improvements for the infrastructure users.
* Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering, Business or related discipline.
