This is your chance to lead a region, inspire a movement, and shape a legacy in one of Queensland’s most diverse and dynamic tourism landscapes. Based in Toowoomba, this is a rare opportunity to step into a CEO role that blends strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and regional pride.
Across the destination, hundreds of tourism operators from boutique accommodation providers to cultural institutions and food producers are ready to grow. They need a leader who can unite them, advocate for them, and elevate their collective voice. You will guide a well‑established tourism organisation through its next chapter, shaped by the momentum of a new brand, the promise of the Brisbane 2032 Games, and the long‑term vision of Destination 2045. The region will play a visible role in the upcoming Olympic Games, hosting equestrian events and welcoming global visitors. Harnessing this moment will require someone who can translate opportunity into action, build partnerships, attract investment, and position the region as a destination of choice.
To succeed, you will bring deep knowledge of and extensive experience in the tourism industry, understanding retail/wholesale trade, distribution chains and working with suppliers, intermediaries, and customers. Your commercial and financial acumen will be evident in your ability to interpret financial outcomes, making sound decisions to ensure sustainability and growth.
You will lead and manage your team with empathy and purpose, creating an environment where people thrive. Your priority will be mentoring and developing individuals, building confidence and capability, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. You’ll ensure clarity of roles and expectations, empowering your team to deliver on shared goals. At the same time, you’ll maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, listening to community voices on the ground and engaging confidently with decision‑makers in the boardroom.
