Macquarie University is hiring for an enthusiastic Senior Data Analyst. As a Senior Data Analyst, you'll be embedded in a collaborative leadership team where your insights will directly inform decisions made by our leadership team, influencing everything from curriculum design to research investment.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Faculty Operations, you will provide sophisticated analytics, reporting, and modelling to support the Faculty of Arts' strategic, educational, research, and engagement priorities. You will also play a key role in building data maturity across the faculty, ensuring quality, governance, and evidence-based continuous improvement.
* Delivering strategic analytics and insights to support Faculty planning, academic performance reviews, curriculum optimisation, workforce planning, and operational decision-making.
* Conducting student forecasting, load modelling, and cohort analysis to inform teaching, learning, and strategic planning decisions.
* Analysing research performance including output data, grant activity, benchmarking, and research quality indicators to support strategic investment and performance uplift.
* Preparing inputs and running predictive and diagnostic models, interpreting outputs and producing recommendations related to student outcomes, research trends, and operational efficiency.
* Collaborating with Business Intelligence and Reporting (BIR) and central analytics units to ensure consistent data definitions, governance standards, validation processes, and reporting quality across datasets.
* Providing expert advice on analytics platforms, tools, and methodologies, identifying opportunities to enhance the faculty's use of data and evidence-based decision making.
* Monitoring and providing insights on progress towards strategic goals, working closely with Key stakeholders.

About You (Selection Criteria)
You are an experienced data analyst with a passion for turning complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making. You bring advanced technical expertise alongside strong communication skills, enabling you to translate analytical findings for diverse stakeholders. You are collaborative by nature, comfortable working across teams and with senior leaders, and motivated by the opportunity to drive meaningful, evidence-based change.
* Tertiary qualifications in Data and Analytics, Data Science, Business, or Statistics or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
* Experience in leading or driving the delivery of data analytics to support an organisation in achieving its strategic objectives.
* Demonstrated ability to curate, analyse, and link benchmark and performance data to generate actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making.
* Proven experience performing complex analysis using a variety of methods for both relational and non-relational data sets to facilitate evidence-based decision-making.
* Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret requirements and information from numerous sources.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Experience working collaboratively with central analytics or business intelligence teams to maintain data governance and reporting standards.
