Doctors in Training (DiT) 2027 - Advanced Trainee - General Medicine - Multiple positions
Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is a 400‐bed public hospital providing acute care services and is the major referral centre for the North and North‐West regions of Tasmania. It is a teaching hospital for the University of Tasmania and accredited with the RACP for advanced training in a number of specialties including General Medicine. LGH is accredited for both years of core training in General and Acute Care Medicine, and additional non‐core training.
The role
* Responsible for the day‐to‐day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the allocated site/facility. Provide after‐hours emergency as determined by the relevant work unit.
Details of appointment
* Multiple fixed‐term full‐time, day‐worker with an on‐call position working 76 hours per fortnight with an additional 10 hours of protected training time.
* Commencing 1 February 2027 until 6 February 2028.
* Negotiable up to three years in contract duration and flexible training may be applicable.
* Applicants should note that, for 12 months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‐time and part‐time vacancies.
Salary
* Medical Practitioner Level 5‐11: $134,930 – $189,005 per annum, pro‐rata.
* Includes 11.5% superannuation and access to salary packaging.
* Salary range in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.
* Note: This is an Advanced Trainee Position.
Eligibility
* Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
o General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
o Current Working with Children Registration.
Qualifications Highly Desirable
* Successfully completed basic physician training.
* OR RACP peer review (i.e., approved to work at an AT level by the RACP).
* Registration/licences that are essential for this role must remain current and valid at all times while employed, and status may be checked at any time during employment.
* Employee is responsible for ensuring registration/licence status remains current and for notifying the Employer if circumstances change, including revocation, cancellation or condition alteration.
