Bookkeeper/Office Administration Manager (Part-time)
We’re looking for a skilled Bookkeeper/Office Administration Manager to be the backbone of a growing specialist services company supporting projects across Australia. This part-time role is hands-on, combining bookkeeping, payroll, and office management, giving you the chance to take ownership and make a real impact.
About the Role
You’ll manage day-to-day financial operations, payroll, and office administration while supporting both the Sydney office and field teams. With roughly 30 hours per week, there’s flexibility around days and start/finish times—perfect if you’re seeking balance without sacrificing responsibility.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Accounting & Finance
* Daily bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online
* Accounts payable & receivable
* Bank and credit card reconciliations
* Invoicing, expense management, and reporting
* Liaising with external accountants and BAS agents
Payroll & HR Administration
* End-to-end payroll using Employment Hero
* Managing timesheets, leave, and super
* Payroll compliance and reporting
* Staff and contractor onboarding/offboarding
Office & Operations Support
* General office administration and coordination
* Supporting field crews with timesheets, travel, and compliance paperwork
* Asset and supplier management
* Improving and maintaining internal processes and systems
About You
You’re organised, detail-driven, and confident managing multiple priorities in a small professional services environment.
Essential:
* Strong experience with QuickBooks Online
* Proven payroll experience using Employment Hero
* Background in bookkeeping or office management
* Excellent attention to detail and communication
* Ability to work independently
Highly Regarded:
* Experience supporting field-based or project-driven teams
* BAS experience or working alongside accountants
* Exposure to engineering, mining services, construction, or consulting environments
