About the Role
This is a senior, hands‑on technical leadership role for an experienced Principal Network Specialist to join a major enterprise network transformation program.
You will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and technical assurance of complex network and security infrastructure solutions across a large, distributed environment. Acting as the technical authority, you will work closely with architects, engineers, delivery teams, and vendors to ensure solutions are fit‑for‑purpose, aligned to enterprise architecture, and operationally sustainable.
Key elements of the role include:
Leading the end‑to‑end design of enterprise network and security solutions
Providing subject matter expertise across SD‑WAN, SD‑Access, and network security platforms
Driving technical outcomes across multiple concurrent implementation workstreams
Facilitating design workshops and solution reviews with internal and external stakeholders
Acting as the lead technical interface with vendors and service providers
Ensuring solutions align with strategic roadmaps, architectural standards, and agreed delivery timeframes
Supporting the transition from legacy infrastructure to modern network platforms without service disruption
This role plays a pivotal part in a highly visible, business‑critical program.
The Successful Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will be a senior network professional with a proven background delivering complex network solutions in large enterprise environments.
You will bring:
Extensive experience as a lead or principal network specialist within large, complex organisations
Strong hands‑on expertise designing and implementing enterprise‑scale network solutions
Deep experience with Cisco technologies, including:
SD‑WAN
SD‑Access
Cisco DNA Center (DNAC)
Cisco Firepower
Cisco ISE
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineers and work effectively with operational support teams
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts at all levels
Proven capability to manage ambiguity, competing priorities, and high‑pressure environments
Industry certifications such as CCNP or CCIE (highly desirable)
Eligibility to obtain and maintain relevant Australian security clearances
Full work rights in Australia
