The Pharmacy department is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Pharmacy Technician, Clinical Governance and Patient Information, based at the Denmark Hill site.
This is a part-time job share opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated pharmacy technician with good communication and interpersonal skills.
The post holder will join the Pharmacy Formulary and Governance team and work with them to ensure the provision of high quality, safe, comprehensive medicines policy and practice within the Trust, in accordance with current priority.
They will also provide specific expertise to plan and develop patient information initiatives and improvements.
Main duties of the job
Support the delivery, management and evaluation of clinical governance to medicines use within the Trust.
Develop and maintain Pharmacy Patient Information resources (including patient leaflets and online information resources)
Work with pharmacy teams and departments on patient-focused care, information and counselling.
Support in the management of new drug and non-formulary requests, as needed.
Provide patient and carer education and close liaison across the interface.
To liaise with Pharmacy staff, Doctors and GPs to ensure efficient transfer of medicines Management issues.
Participate in clinical audit, research and Quality Improvement
To participate in and contribute to the ward medicines management services, as per service need.
Supervise and train junior and rotational pharmacy staff within Pharmacy and at ward level.
Provide education and training of healthcare professionals within and outside the Trust.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
NVQ level 3
Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC
ACPT qualification (or working towards)
Mandatory CPD
Completion of short courses relevant to practice
Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge of all regulations and legislation relevant to pharmacy, dispensary and clinical services
Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems
Substantial post registration experience in hospital setting
Experience of training and supervision of pharmacy staff
Experience of research and audit work
Skills and Competencies
Be able to provide and receive complex information on medicines use, ward and dispensary services
Be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with staff and patients
Be able to analyse information relating to service provided or individual patients where there are a range of facts requiring analysis and where a range of options need to be compared
Employer certification / accreditation badges
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
