Robinson Gill Lawyers is a thriving multi-disciplinary law firm based in Box Hill that has provided expert legal advice for over 40 years. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of our growing Police & Prison Team.
We are seeking a lawyer with 3 – 5 years' post admission experience, particularly in the areas of Civil Litigation, Injury Law and/or Criminal Defence. Specific knowledge of Police Torts is not essential, as training will be provided.
You will be mentored by Jeremy King, Principal and LIV Injury Law Accredited Specialist, and other senior lawyers. You will work in a team of friendly and dedicated lawyers of varying levels. You will enjoy the support of a legal assistant and excellent resources to assist in developing your legal skills. We value and actively promote the work/life balance of our team.
About you:
We are looking for an outstanding litigator with the below attributes:
* the ability to work collaboratively within the team;
* an interest in running police misconduct and prison negligence matters;
* a willingness to learn and to continually update your skills and knowledge;
* a strong client focus and a desire to provide high level professional service; and
* sound organisational abilities and the ability to prioritise to meet competing demands of matters in different stages of litigation.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Running an interesting and challenging practice;
* Investigating and preparing cases for mediation and trial including preparing Court documents, obtaining and analysing evidence;
* Providing legal advice to clients;
* Negotiating outcomes for clients; and
* Supervising legal assistants.
