Associate Legal Counsel

About The Role
Maitland City Council is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel to join our highly skilled legal team. The role supports the Legal Counsel in delivering in‐house legal services by advising on a diverse range of matters including planning, environment, contract and local government law, and other legal and regulatory issues. The Associate will review, negotiate and draft various contracts and agreements, Council policies and procedures, and provide efficient, accurate, empathetic and strategic legal advice.
About You
Qualifications:
* Legal qualifications and a current Australian legal practising certificate.
* Minimum of 2‐5 years PAE.
* Strong skills in legal research, analysis and interpretation.
* Clear, succinct written and verbal communication; ability to draft complex legal documents accurately.

This is a permanent full‐time role, working 35 hours per week with a salary range of $98,093 – $108,883 plus 12% super. Council also offers a range of benefits:
