Terra Harvest Australia is a Australian owned food manufacturer providing well known products under the Fantastic brand to domestic and overseas customers. Wholly Australian owned, with our manufacturing site and logistics team based in Dandenong Victoria, we are currently seeking an experienced QA Manager to be a part of our senior management team on site.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Site Manager you will be responsible for compliance for quality standards across the site, NPD projects and providing leadership to the QA and Operations Team.
Your general responsibilities will include:
* Managing the internal quality standards and systems to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Group Quality & Compliance
* Adopting an 'audit ready approach' to ensure quality standards and systems comply with third party accreditation and quality systems of customers, HACCP principles and ISO standards, including good manufacturing practices, calibration & validation procedures; pest control and site sanitation programs
* Liaising through management with government bodies and laboratories to ensure all legal requirements are adhered to and actioned as necessary
* Ensuring audit actions / non-conformances are followed up and certification is maintained
* Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring opportunities for personnel under your control
* Providing general advice and recommendations on a range of operational continuous improvement, quality assurance, food hygiene and product development matters
* Assessing raw material quality and liaising with current suppliers if ingredients do not comply with established standards.
* Provide quality and NPD related reporting as required
* Provide support in developing and implementing manufacturing strategies to identify and improve production processes
* Involvement in operator training on quality & hygiene standards as required
* Develop the quality team to a service focused unit with the technical expertise and operational experience to assist in compliance improvement initiatives

Your passion for food, 'can do' attitude, customer focus and strong belief in 'getting things right the first time', coupled with tertiary studies in Food Technology / Science will provide you with the necessary strong analytical background to be successful in this role
In addition to the above attributes and experience, you will ideally poses the following:
* Experience as a QA Manager in an FMCG or manufacturing background (Ideally food)
* A compliance background and understanding of HACCP principles / GMP
* An understanding of Australian Consumer Law, food labelling and food safety legislation
* Ability to manage multiple projects and continuous improvement approach
* Strong analytical skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
