We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering people with disabilities to live independently and reach their full potential.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Provide person-centered support tailored to each participant's goals
* Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, meal preparation, and household tasks
* Support participants in social and recreational activities within the community
* Implement individualized care plans and support strategies
* Ensure a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for participants
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and progress
The Ideal Candidate:
* Has evidence of working with people with disabilities, their families, and support networks
* Possesses a strong understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safety framework and NDIS Code of Conduct
* Has experience supporting clients during sleepover and early morning shifts
* Practical experience in person-centered and active support models
* Ability to provide support during overnight sleepover shifts
* Experience in team collaboration, supervision, and conflict resolution
* Strong time management, administrative, and computer skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with stakeholders
* A resilient and adaptable approach to changing priorities and participant needs
Required Qualifications and Experience:
* At least 5 years of disability support work experience
* Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or a willingness to obtain it
* NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and NDIS Orientation Module Completion
* Current First Aid & CPR Certification
* Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Check with NDIS endorsement
* National Police Check (less than six months old)
* A valid Australian driver's license (preferred)
