The Chance:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Parramatta. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Fortinet devices and a strong background in network architecture, security, and administration. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, deploy, and manage functional network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN) using Fortinet and other devices.
- Monitor network performance and integrity, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues escalated by support teams.
- Implement and oversee security measures, including access authentication and disaster recovery.
- Automate network tasks and monitor their effectiveness.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to the other network engineers.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation of network configurations and changes.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to support network services and ensure seamless integration.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in network engineering and security.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on Fortinet devices.
- Professional certifications such as Fortinet NSE, CCNP, or equivalent.
- In-depth understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and security principles.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with network diagnostic tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and mentoring skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Perl).
- Familiarity with cloud networking technologies.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and analysis tools such as Auvik
