What’s the role?
You’ll join our Chief Technology Office as a Senior Engineer, building and supporting the technology that powers how our customers bank every day. This is a full time permanent role based in Gold Coast, with a hybrid way of working that balances time in the office and at home.
You’ll design, build and improve customer servicing and origination solutions across online and staff facing channels. You won’t be handed a finished design. You’ll collaborate closely with architects, delivery leads, product owners and platform teams to shape solutions end to end.
This role suits engineers who enjoy working across technologies, owning outcomes in production environments and using modern tools including AI to accelerate delivery. From design and development through to support and optimisation, you’ll play a key role in delivering reliable, scalable solutions that create real value for customers.
What do I need?
• Strong core engineering skills with proficiency in at least two of Java or Kotlin using Spring Boot, TypeScript or JavaScript using React, or SQL, including hands on experience designing and building RESTful APIs using contract first approaches
• Solid software engineering fundamentals applied in practice, including object oriented design, domain driven design, test driven development and infrastructure as code, alongside strong SQL and data modelling skills across MSSQL, Oracle and Postgres, with an understanding of batch and streaming data flows
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate real engineering work, including code generation, automated code review, test scaffolding and prompt engineering as part of everyday delivery
• A strong focus on developer experience and automation, with practical experience across DevOps and CI CD practices and modern engineering toolchains such as VS Code, IntelliJ, GitHub, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or Bamboo
• Proven ability to build and operate reliable systems at scale, communicate complex technical ideas clearly, and work across teams with a mindset of collective ownership
