Established in 1871, the Australian Hotels Association SA (AHA|SA) is the peak body for the South Australian hospitality and tourism industry. Being part of a National body, the Association represents and protects the commercial interests of hoteliers while providing advice on a range of matters including legislative changes, licensing, gaming, industrial relations, taxation, responsible gambling and community liaison. **Role Overview**
Reporting to and working closely with the State Council based in SA, the Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for facilitating the development and implementation of the Association's strategic plan by overseeing its day-to-day operations, strategic initiatives, and stakeholder engagement activities. This role will provide effective leadership to the AHA|SA's team, while working in collaboration with a range of internal and external stakeholders, to enhance the Association's active role in advocating for the industry and protecting members' interests.
Key responsibilities include:
- Actively building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders, including members, government, regulatory and industry bodies;
- Maintaining the development and delivery of a range of member services and training;
- Contributing to the development of state and national policy while ensuring the Association meets its obligations and requirements;
- Keeping up to date with legislative changes and emerging trends that may affect the industry, the organisation and its members;
- Providing general administrative support and overseeing the Association's finance function including budgets, member fee structures, investment policies and other income sources;
- Representing the Association in the media.
