Retail Store Manager
Swan Hill | Full Time (38 hours per week)
Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 + performance incentives
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Store Manager to lead our Swan Hill retail store, specialising in gourmet artisan products and fresh produce, Swan Hill Fresh - Produce Collective.
This is a vital leadership position within our business. The Store Manager sets the tone for the store, from customer experience and team culture to performance, systems and profitability.
This role is about more than keeping the doors open. It's about leading people well, driving results, and building something strong and sustainable.
About the Role
You will oversee the daily operations of the store across retail and wholesale, ensuring high standards, strong financial performance and a positive, motivated team culture.
Hours:
• Full-time – 38 hours per week
• 10:15am – 6:15pm shifts
Weekly rotating roster Monday Friday & Tuesday - Saturday (negotiable)
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Culture
• Lead, mentor and supervise junior and senior team members
• Foster a positive, inclusive and accountable team culture
• Conduct quarterly staff reviews
• Invest in your own leadership growth and set the standard for professionalism
• Remain calm, solution-focused and steady under pressure
Store Operations & Performance
• Oversee daily retail operations
• Ensure all online order's are picked, packed accurately and on time.
• Manage follow-up of mistakes of all kinds with both staff and customers, maintaining a clear record and implementing training where required
• Develop and improve systems and processes to drive efficiency and reduce wage cost
Rostering & Wage KPI
• Manage staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage while maintaining wage targets
• Monitor and report on wage KPIs
Product & Inventory Management
• Manage product ordering across grocery segments
• Ensure order cut-offs and supplier requirements are met
• Monitor and optimise use-by dates and stock rotation
• Maintain high merchandising standards and engaging store presentation
Financial & Reporting
• Oversee pricing changes and office administration
• Monitor and report weekly and monthly on KPIs including sales performance, GP and net profit
• Report clearly to management on store performance outcomes
Customer Service
• Deliver exceptional customer service & train team in the same manor
• Respond promptly and professionally to queries and complaints
• Maintain strong phone management standards (target 90% answer rate, reviewed weekly)
Additional Responsibilities
• Assist with business development projects
• Help cast vision for growth and bring the team on the journey
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
• Proven experience in senior management and retail (essential)
• A genuine passion for the food industry
• Strong leadership capability with the ability to guide and develop a team
• Excellent communication skills
• High attention to detail and strong organisational ability
• Confidence working with KPIs, reporting and financial performance
• A natural ability to balance customer experience with commercial outcomes
