Our client is a well-established vegetable farming and processing enterprise based in Tasmania. They play a key role in vegetable production across the country, having an established network with key retail partners. They are now seeking an experienced Vegetable Grower to lead a dynamic crop program within the organisation.
The Opportunity
The Vegetable Grower plays a key role in managing the day-to-day operations of allocated cropping programs. Reporting to the Agricultural Manager, this role combines crop management, applied agronomy, and commercial responsibility.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering agronomic support across nutrition, pest, disease, irrigation, and soil health
* Conducting regular field monitoring and implementing timely interventions
* Preparing and managing crop budgets
* Planning and coordinating and training staff to meet seasonal demands
* Engaging with growers and stakeholders locally
* Ensuring compliance with WHS, QA, and regulatory standards
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
* Strong understanding of vegetable production methods and agronomy.
* Experience in a field officer, agronomist, or similar role within intensive cropping systems.
* Proven experience managing budgets, labour, and operational costs.
* Experience in cool climate cropping (Tasmania) and vegetable production highly regarded.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* High attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
