An established and highly regarded commercial construction business is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead a portfolio of projects and oversee a high performing delivery team across Melbourne. This is a senior leadership opportunity suited to someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, enjoys mentoring project teams, and can confidently manage multiple stakeholders while driving strong commercial and project outcomes.
You will take ownership across several live projects, leading Senior Project Managers and Project Managers while contributing strategically to tendering, pre-construction planning, client engagement, and business growth. This role offers the chance to step into a visible leadership position within a respected contractor delivering complex fit‐out, refurb and new build projects across numerous sectors.
You will be responsible for:
* Leading and mentoring Senior Project Managers, Project Managers and delivery teams
* Overseeing multiple projects to ensure delivery on time, on budget and to quality expectations
* Driving strong commercial performance across budgets, procurement, variations and reporting
* Supporting tender strategy, bid leadership and early contractor involvement opportunities
* Managing key client, consultant and subcontractor relationships
* Identifying delivery risks early and implementing solutions proactively
* Providing leadership across safety, quality and environmental compliance
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
* Minimum 10 years' construction industry experience
* Strong background in fit out, refurb, complex and new build projects
* Proven leadership experience managing multiple project teams
* High level commercial capability across cost planning, forecasting and project financials
* Ability to influence outcomes across delivery, tendering and strategic planning
* Excellent understanding of construction methodology, trades and services
