Your new role
Working closely with the Senior Accountants and CFO, you will provide hands‑on accounting and administrative support across a range of entities. This is a broad role ideal for someone looking to deepen their technical accounting experience while contributing to ongoing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Financial Accounting
* Completion of month‑end and year‑end close processes.
* Preparation and input of journals, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and BAS statements.
* Compilation of monthly financial statements and responses to ad hoc reporting requests.
* Management and monitoring of a significant volume of bank accounts, including funding and inter‑entity transfers.
* Consolidation of financial information to produce group month‑end balance sheets and income statements.
Accounts Administration
Accounts Administration
* Review and verification of invoices and cheque requests.
* Resolve invoice discrepancies by liaising with internal staff and external contractors.
* Sort, code and match invoices to purchase orders; enter purchase orders where required.
* Enter and upload invoices into the system and process payments through banking platforms.
* Preparation of BAS returns.
Record Keeping
* Maintain and update the monthly payments spreadsheet.
* Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
* Maintain the supplier insurance register.
Supplier, Subcontractor & Compliance
* Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Set up new creditors and collect required insurance documentation.
* Ensure WorkCover and public liability insurances remain current.
Process Improvements
* Support the CFO with the development and implementation of improved financial processes.
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience in accounting or bookkeeping, ideally across multiple entities.
* Strong Xero and Excel skills (non‑negotiable).
* A proactive, "pitch‑in" attitude with a willingness to help others.
* High levels of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail.
* A team‑focused mindset and someone who enjoys contributing socially to the workplace.
* A desire to work toward or continue CA/CPA studies (support provided).
