Executive Assistant to GM Governance, Strategy and Communications

Location:Darwin
Status: Full-time, Ongoing

The Northern Land Council (NLC) is seeking a highly capable and professional Executive Assistant to provide high-level support to the General Manager – Governance Strategy & Communications. This is a pivotal role supporting a senior executive who oversees the Governance Compliance and Risk, Strategy & Advocacy and Media and Communications Service Areas

About the Role:

The Executive Assistant is the central coordination point between the General Manager's office and internal staff, Service Area Managers, Traditional Owners, senior stakeholders and external partners.

You will manage complex and high-volume workflows, coordinate meetings and travel, prepare executive briefings and monitor delivery of key actions across the group. The role requires initiative, discretion and sound judgement, particularly when managing sensitive matters in a dynamic and cross-cultural environment. This is a fast-paced role suited to a confident professional who anticipates needs, maintains strong organisational discipline and thrives in environments where governance, confidentiality and cultural respect are paramount.

What You Will Bring:

You are an experienced Executive Assistant who has supported senior leaders in complex, high-volume environments. You bring calm organisation, careful considered judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities with professionalism and discretion. You are confident communicating across diverse stakeholder groups, including Aboriginal people and communities, and you understand the importance of cultural awareness in executive environments. You operate independently, anticipate issues before they arise, and maintain strong governance discipline in record keeping and correspondence management.

In addition, you will have:

* Substantial experience providing executive support to a senior leader in a complex, high-volume environment.
* Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and tight timeframes.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively and respectfully across cultures and levels of seniority.
* Strong judgement, discretion and problem-solving skills, particularly when dealing with confidential or sensitive matters

We offer:

* A base salary of$83,099 per annum plus 15% superannuation and salary sacrificing up to $15,900 + Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefit up to $2,650 per year.
* Other benefits under our Enterprise Agreement include:
o District allowance of up to $4,884 (DA2) per annum for individuals with dependents and $2,678 (DA1) without dependents.
o Generous leave provisions 5 weeks annual leave, leaving loading, 18 days personal leave;
o Paid Christmas close down;
o Upon completion of 12 months of service anAnnual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $3,177
