The Position is a critical role within the organisation, responsible for driving procurement activities to achieve strategic objectives and ensure compliance with regulations.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this key stakeholder will coordinate procurement efforts in collaboration with various staff members across the organisation.
The Procurement Specialist oversees the development, management, and monitoring of contracts and supplier panels from inception to completion. This includes ensuring that all managed contracts remain relevant to stakeholder needs, with a focus on value for money, transparency, and compliance with probity requirements.
A range of duties associated with contract administration, tender coordination, and vendor management are also encompassed by this role. The successful candidate will work closely with internal clients and vendors to develop professional relationships and provide procurement services responsive to current and future needs.
This position requires high-level numeracy skills, advanced knowledge of strategic sourcing processes, including market analysis, tendering, and evaluation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a procurement role, with expertise in contract and commercial law, as well as general conditions of contract.
The accurate processing of data input and systematic filing of all related documents are essential aspects of this position. Additionally, strong negotiation skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and high-level time management skills to prioritise competing deadlines are necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a procurement role
* Advanced knowledge of strategic sourcing processes, including market analysis, tendering, and evaluation
* High level of numeracy and accuracy
* Sound knowledge of probity, risk management, and relevant legislation relating to contract conditions
* Advanced knowledge of contract and commercial law, and general conditions of contract
* Ability to undertake the Procurement process and provide guidance to our internal stakeholders for medium/high risk sourcing
