Business Development Manager (QLD, SA, NT, WA)
PelicanCorp is a market leader in technologies that prevent utility and network damages—an issue costing Australia $4.6 billion annually. We’re seeking a driven Business Development Manager to help us expand our reach, protect communities, and ensure the reliability of critical infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
- Drive growth: Achieve and exceed revenue targets by managing and expanding existing customer accounts, while also identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Strategic planning: Develop and execute territory and account plans to maximize growth across Local Government, Utilities, and Commercial sectors.
- Relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers and industry influencers.
- Account management: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and increased share of wallet through proactive engagement and support.
- New business acquisition: Identify, develop, and close recent business opportunities to grow our customer base.
- Reporting & CRM: Deliver monthly management reports and maintain accurate records in Dynamics365 (CRM).
- Champion best practices: Use CRM tools to manage your pipeline, forecast accurately, and drive sales process excellence.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of successful experience in software or SaaS sales, with a proven track record in both account management and new business acquisition.
- Demonstrated success in high‑pressure, high‑expectation environments.
- Deep understanding of business drivers and buying processes in Local Government, Utilities, Telecommunications, and Utility Construction.
- Exposure to GIS, Utility mapping, Digital Twin or Utility Survey technologies.
- A “hunter” mentality balanced with a strong commitment to customer service.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- High proficiency in Dynamics365 (CRM), Office365, and online presentation tools such as MS Teams.
