Assistant Under Treasurer
Queensland Treasury is offering two unique and prestigious roles that place you at the forefront of shaping Queensland's energy future.
Both roles provide a rare opportunity to deliver meaningful impact in this era of transformative energy transition, directly influencing decisions that affect the lives of millions of Queenslanders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead delivery of the Queensland Energy Roadmap and GOC performance and governance.
Ensure affordable, reliable and sustainable energy and efficient service delivery.
Drive high-impact projects, policy frameworks, investments and strategies.
Provide high-level strategic advice to the Treasurer, Under Treasurer and Shareholding Ministers on complex energy and GOC matters.
Oversee key aspects of energy policy development, investment, governance, and monitoring.
Drive priorities linked to GOC operations and energy portfolios to ensure efficient service delivery.
Lead strategies, projects, and programs that strengthen Queensland's economic resilience and future energy sustainability.
Represent Treasury at high-level negotiations, forums and consultations with key stakeholders.
Build and lead a collaborative Energy and GOCs team fostering innovation, integrity and capability development.
Maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders in GOCs, government agencies, regulated entities and industry to achieve coordinated policies and solutions.
Required Experience
Proven leadership managing and achieving success within large and complex organisations.
Extensive expertise in economic and fiscal management, including policy development and delivery of complex frameworks.
Experience with large-scale project management and innovation ensuring value for money, contract oversight and risk mitigation.
Experience in the energy sector and familiarity with public policy development (highly desirable).
High-level capability in engaging complex stakeholders and senior government representatives, demonstrating strategic implementation abilities.
Exceptional judgement, political acumen, negotiation and communication skills to manage challenges effectively.
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
