About the role
Due to rapid growth and a strong pipeline of client projects, we are currently looking for a Electro-Optics (EO) Engineer/Scientist to join our on-site team at Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) Edinburgh. This varied role would see you working with Senior EO Engineers to take on a range of tasks, including:
* Design, development and testing of complex EO sensors and system.
* Development of various engineering and research artefacts such as test reports, calibration procedures, etc.
* Support the integration of sensors and systems into third party products.
* Support experimentation outcomes with EO sensors and systems.
* Collaboration with various teams and clients to achieve shared outcomes.
About you
* Bachelors degree in Physics, Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
* Hold a current NV1 clearance, or able to obtain one.
* Experience with EO systems.
* Proficiency in Python and/or Matlab.
* Experience generating technical reports.
* Experience designing optical systems using Zemax (or other optical design tools) is desirable.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Mandatory Requirements
Due to a requirement to be eligible for a NV1 security clearance, Australian Citizenship is required.
Must be able to access controlled information under the International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR).
