Salary: $122,597 - $130,265 a year
Appointment: Permanent or Fixed-term Full time appointment at 76 hours per fortnight with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. Part time hours may be considered.
Role
Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Geraldton Health Campus Redevelopment in the Midwest Mental Health and Community Alcohol and Drug Service (MMH & CADS). The Geraldton Acute Psychiatric Unit (APU) is building a multidisciplinary team grounded in trauma-informed, person-centred, and culturally safe care. Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall coordination, planning, delivery and evaluation of a culturally safe and patient-focused Occupational Therapy program in the Geraldton APU. Provides advanced level assessment, treatment, planning and therapeutic interventions for individuals and groups. Plans and facilitates client activities in collaboration with other multidisciplinary team staff of the APU. Provides support and supervision to the Occupational Therapist and Therapy Assistant.

Area Profile
The Midwest health region of Western Australia covers more than 600,000 square kilometres, with population concentrated along the coast. The region includes Gascoyne, Geraldton, Midwest and Murchison health districts. The Geraldton Health Campus redevelopment includes an expanded emergency department, new ICU and high dependency unit, a new integrated mental health service (adult inpatient unit and a mental health short stay unit), and a reconfigured main entry. A community reference group helped inform architectural drawings and cultural recognition within the facility.
