Mobile Technicians (Electrical/Mechanical) - South Coast Train Line
Hyundai Rotem Company (HRC) was founded in **** and since that time, has been leading the industry globally by delivering critical national infrastructure in over 50 countries. A leader in the Korean rail industry, HRC has succeded in developing high-speed trains and is now establishing their presence in the Australian market.
The New Intercity Fleet (NIF) Project is being delivered by Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) to provide a fleet of new intercity trains for operation on the New South Wales (NSW) electrified rail network. The rail-car fleet will comprise of 55 Long Units and 70 Short Units for the Newcastle, Blue Mountains, South Coast and Central Coast lines.
The NIF high-capacity, double-deck walk-through trains to be delivered by RailConnect NSW will be configured as four, six, eight (2x4) and ten car trains (4+6). The trains will offer passenger comfort and amenities suitable for longer journeys, such as comfortable seating, advanced communications technology and toilets.

Role Overview
The New Intercity Fleet is scheduled for South Coast line deployment around March/April ****. This role requires attendance at an initial training program at our
Kangy Angy site on the Central Coast.
The duration of work at Kangy Angy training is approx. 2-3 months, until deployment of revenue services onto the Southern Line and an outstation facility is established at the location. For the duration of work at Kangy Angy (4 days on, 3 days off) we've got you covered with accommodation, meal allowances AND/OR travel allowances if you prefer to commute.
You will be:
Responsible for carrying out planned/corrective maintenance and highly skilled repair, at locations within one of the Mobile Support regions as well as "In Service" support.
Download, analyse, interpret and make appropriate action accordingly based on the train system/sub-system data logs.
Expected to be able to undertake rolling stock fault finding tasks based on knowledge of and experience with rolling stock and associated sub-systems.
Ensure trains meet Minimum Operating Standards (MOS) to enable running on the network.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Works under direction/guidance of the Technical Support Managers and Officers
Ensures that maintenance and corrective work is performed in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
Undertakes tasks as part of a team or alone, on activities outlined to the extent of their education, training, and competency,
Receives and schedules a work plan for the shift with support from Technical Support Managers and Officersto ensure efficient use of time and highest priority jobs achieved over the shift.
Completes documentation, including with electronic recording systems, associated with work to the specified standard.
Provides guidance and direction to all relevant employees/stakeholders, including train crew, and consortium partner staff.
Follows all operating procedures designed to manage risks in the Rolling Stock Maintenance environment.
Follow all procedures inherent in routine and corrective maintenance programs on rollingstock.
Troubleshooting, fault finding and systems testing of rollingstock.
Selection Criteria
Relevant Trades Certificate (at Certificate Ill or IV level) or assessed equivalent (typically Mechanical or Electrical)
Incumbent must hold and maintain a current valid NSW Driver's Licence to perform the role
Experience in operational rollingstock (ideal but not essential), corrective, and preventative maintenance
High level verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in using information and technology systems including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Email
Demonstrated ability to work in a team and autonomously
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team
Strong technical understanding of electrical/pneumatic schematics
Strong fault-finding abilities in electrical/pneumatic circuits
