A little about the role
Reporting to the Team Manager, the Family Services Senior Practitioner will provide early intervention and prevention with families which aims to reduce and prevent risk to children, build family capability and improve child and family outcomes. The Family Services Senior Practitioner will work with the Key Assets Family Services Team to provide intensive supports to families through direct support, case coordination or group facilitation.
Key responsibilities:
* Actively engaging children, youth, and families through home visits, phone contact, and meetings.
* Working in a strength–based, child–centred, family focused way where the wellbeing and safety of children and young people remains paramount.
* Providing supervision and coaching to team members and new starters as required, in line with practice framework guidelines and Key Asset’s supervision policy.
* Providing specialist responses to priority cohorts, including response to infants, young children and adolescents, people with disabilities, and /or people experiencing family violence.
* Conducting needs/risk/safety assessments, and developing time limited intensive intervention goals with families, ensuring the highest possible transparency with children, young people, and family in their homes within an assertive outreach model.
The base salary for this position is $100,776.00 - $105,340.56 (based on 1.0 FTE) + super + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll come with:
* Recognised Social Work Qualification (or similar).
* Post qualification experience working with and or on behalf of children, young people, and families.
* Strong understanding of Child and Family Service, Child Protection and Court Orders.
* Experience in conducting comprehensive assessments to create, implement, monitor, and evaluate service delivery and support plans.
* Demonstrated experience in assessing parenting capacity.
* Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and frameworks in Child Protection services
