As a Design Manager at Verso Group, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the design process and ensuring the successful delivery of complex construction projects - In particular residential Townhouse projects. You will be responsible for leading a project team of talented designers and collaborating closely with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. This is a full-time position based in our Brisbane, QLD office.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the design process from inception to completion, coordinating the work of in-house designers and external consultants
* Collaborate with clients to understand their design requirements and translate them into effective solutions
* Review and approve design plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements, regulations, and industry standards
* Identify and mitigate design-related risks, proactively addressing any issues that arise
* Effectively communicate design progress, challenges, and solutions to project teams and stakeholders
* Provide technical guidance and support to the design team, fostering their professional development
* Ensure the design process is efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the overall project goals
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Design Manager or in a similar role
* Demonstrated expertise in managing the design process for complex construction projects
* Excellent understanding of design principles, construction methods, and relevant regulations and standards
* Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and resolve design-related issues
* Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams
* Proficient in the use of design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools
* Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
