At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.





* Temporary Full-Time position ending 4 April 2027
* Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available
* Clerk Grade 7/8 - $113,574 to $125,720 plus superannuation and leave loading



About the role



* Create high-quality graphic design across digital and print to support School Infrastructure projects and promote safe, modern school facilities.
* Turn complex briefs into clear visuals that engage audiences and meet brand standards.
* Partner with teams and stakeholders to scope design needs, give expert advice and deliver strong visual outcomes on time.



The Designer delivers high-quality, customer-focused graphic design services across digital and print to support School Infrastructure projects, enhancing the division’s brand and communicating its commitment to safe, modern, and sustainable school facilities.

About you

* Bring strong graphic design skill with experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat).
* Translate complex briefs into clear visual content that engage the target audience and meet brand standards.
* Work well with stakeholders to scope design needs, give advice and meet project deadlines.
* Plan and manage multiple tasks while meeting tight timeframes and quality standards.
* Show commitment to public education values and support inclusive, accessible design outcomes.
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.



Essential requirements of the role

* Relevant qualifications in Graphic Design and/or equivalent workplace experience.
* Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

Can you walk us through a design challenge you faced and explain how you approached it to find an effective solution? What was your thought process and the outcome?
