We are seeking a highly experienced Registered Nurse to step into a key leadership role at Echuca Regional Health as our Nurse Unit Manager - Operating Theatre. This role will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring a high standard of patient care, managing staff performance and fostering a collaborative team environment during a period of change and growth. A fantastic opportunity for an established leader to drive clinical excellence in a fast-paced surgical setting.
Responsibilities
* Provide operation leadership to the Planned Surgery and Central Sterilisation and Supply Department managers
* Lead the nursing team to ensure a collaborative professional and supportive environment which fosters effective and positive communication
* Ensure optimal scheduling and utilization of operating theatre resources, including staff, equipment and consumables
* Manage recruitment, onboarding, rostering, payroll, professional development and performance management of theatre staff to achieve a highly skilled and functional team
* Lead quality improvement initiatives related to relevant standards and ensure adherence to auditing, data collection and related action plans
* Ensure the theatre team is trained and prepared for all clinical emergencies relevant to the theatre service
* Actively participate in mandatory meetings as required and requested
* Maintain core clinical competence specific to the area of clinical practice
Qualifications/experience
* Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
* Minimum of 4 years post registration peri-op experience across scrub/ scout, anaesthetics and PACU
* Previous management experience and understanding of human resource management, financial processes, quality management and clinical governance
* Post Graduate Qualification in Management or related studies
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in quality improvement processes and related activities
