Key responsibilities
* Lead the development and on-going management of complex transport network, area, corridor, route and link
* Manage issues and public information about activities including the provision of high-level strategic advice and reports to the Manager (Strategic Planning) and Regional Director.
* Develop and manage key stakeholder relationships to ensure results are achieved.
* Provide guidance and mentoring to colleagues in transport study methodologies and techniques and actively contribute to the management of the unit.
* Lead and direct specific tasks or projects (involving the region and other departmental staff) to effectively coordinate and deliver various project activities on time and within budget.
* Consult and negotiate with internal and external agencies and represent the department at meetings on integrated land use and transport planning issues and projects.
* Research and evaluate the transport implications of major land use planning activities and major development
* Prepare complex reports, briefing notes and general correspondence.
Mandatory Qualifications And Conditions
* Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
* Desirable: Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or similar qualification with detailed knowledge of the Planning Act 2016, Economic Development Act 2012, Transport Infrastructure Act 1994 and strategic land use planning processes and policies in Queensland. A degree in Civil Engineering with Post Graduate qualification in Transport Planning will also be highly regarded.
* Desirable: A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence

* Town Planning: Knowledge of Strategic and Regional Planning (Integrated Transport Planning) - Demonstrates a high level of knowledge of Strategic and Regional Planning.
