The role provides independent oversight, review and challenge to help ensure the bank's compliance with AML/CTF, Sanctions and Tax Transparency regulatory obligations. Working closely with the broader compliance function, the Advisor contributes to maintaining strong financial crime risk management practices across the organisation.In this role, you will support the Senior Partner by providing independent review, advice and constructive challenge over the implementation of AML/CTF, Sanctions and Tax Transparency processes across Group Operations. This includes assessing new initiatives, responding to issues and incidents, and reviewing existing controls to ensure they meet Financial Crime Compliance requirements. You will play an important role in supporting the delivery of proportionate, risk‐based assurance activities across the BOQ businesses.The Advisor is also responsible for supporting the implementation of the Financial Crime Compliance Assurance Framework through sample‐based control testing and targeted deep‐dive reviews. You will synthesise, escalate and report the outcomes of assurance activity to highlight gaps, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement in Line 1's management of financial crime risk. Through this work, the role helps drive continuous improvement and supports stronger financial crime compliance outcomes across the bank. About youYou bring strong, detailed knowledge of financial crime compliance obligations, including the AML/CTF Act, AUSTRAC guidance and broader industry practice. With experience working in financial services and banking environments, you understand a range of products, services and operating models. You have sound knowledge of risk, control and assurance methodologies, including control design, testing and effectiveness, and are able to apply this knowledge to assess complex compliance environments in a practical and risk‐based way.You are skilled at building constructive, open and transparent relationships with stakeholders across the Group and at an equivalent level within financial services. You are able to quickly understand new, dynamic and complex initiatives, issues and incidents, and have a strong ability to identify areas requiring deeper analysis and attention.
